Programming Controller Modules

Before You Begin

Ensure that the Quad CIM, Dual T1/E1 Framer, T1/E1 Framer, or Quad BRI Framer is installed as shown in the Technician's Handbook.

Programming

To program a controller module:

  1. Controller Module Configuration form

Select one of the following from the "Programmed Type" field:

  1. "Quad CIM" for a Quad CIM module

  2. "Dual Framer" for a Dual T1/E1 Framer (Proceed to step 2)

  3. "T1/E1 Combo" for a T1/E1 Framer (Proceed to step 2)

  4. "Quad BRI" for a Quad BRI module (Proceed to step 3)

  1. Dual T1/E1 Framers form ( ) or Resilient T1/E1 Framers form ( )

Click Change and assign a Unit number (2 - 16) and an optional 30-character comment.
Click Change Member and assign the interface type (T1 or E1) for each port on the module.

  1. For embedded T1/D4, select "T1"

  2. For embedded PRI or QSIG, select "T1" or "E1" as required

  3. For embedded DPNSS/DASS II, select "T1" or "E1" as required

  1. Quad BRI Framers form

Click Change and assign a Unit number (2 - 16) and an optional 30-character comment.

By default, the BRI interface type is assigned to each port on the module.
